New Media Conference 'Future of Television Content: Multi-Platform Engagement & Digital Extension'
05 Oct 2009

The inevitable has arrived. TV viewership numbers are plummeting, whilst new media platforms are increasing at an alarming rate. Can we attract viewers back to the black box? Can TV viewers co-exist in the digital paradigm? Can we conjure a self-substantiating eco-system between traditional and new media platforms? This conference will explore new frontiers to overcome the challenges faced by Broadcasters, Network Channels and Media Owners.
Traditional media platforms are now molded to conform to the needs of new media platforms. It is a ‘quick and dirty’ fix, as there are inherent legal issues to deal with. On the other hand, content creators are exploiting new media platforms for their highly interactive and adaptive capabilities to enrich user experience. The result is a distinct wedge between both worlds, forcing viewers with a mutually-exclusive choice.
Nevertheless, the digital age has brought with it significant changes and remarkable challenges. To some, it brings the goal of global content distribution closer. For others, it represents a loss of control and perhaps, the loss of a business model. As this era accelerates in our ever-changing society, from controlled to distributed content and from a single to a multi-platform delivery model, we need to rethink our objectives. Can we adapt to this new paradigm? Are we the drivers of change, or will change drive us? How can we take advantage of this massive market opportunity?
Learn the truth. Finally.
