Creative Industries Apprenticeship Scheme

The Creative Industries Apprenticeship Scheme has been designed to help new entrants acquire practical industry experience thereby boosting their employability.  Within the scheme, there is a structured training based on the Creative Industries Workforce Skills Qualifications (CI WSQ) framework to help the trainees acquire industry-relevant skills and knowledge to help them make a smooth transition into a new job role in the creative industries.  Under the scheme, trainees will be hired and attached to a host employer and undergo CI WSQ training at SMA.  Trainees who successfully complete the scheme will be conferred the nationally recognised CI WSQ certificates.

Creative Industries Apprenticeship Scheme – Assistant Producer (6-month Apprenticeship)

The Creative Industries Apprenticeship Scheme for Assistant Producer aims to assist new entrants (including fresh graduates and mid-career professionals) who are keen to upgrade and re-skill themselves to take on careers in areas of media production.

Job Description commonly cited:

• Working with internal and external parties to meet production schedules
• Requisition of props and costumes and ensuring that sets and props are ready and one time for the show
• Preparation of production reports, production budget and all relevant paper work


Classroom training:

• Pre production planning
• Breakdown a script
• Coordinate film or television camera requirements on a production shoot
• Contribute to preproduction planning


Creative Industries Apprenticeship Scheme – New Media marketing (6-month Apprenticeship)

The Creative Industries Apprenticeship Scheme for New Media Marketing aims to assist new entrants (including fresh graduates and mid-career professionals) who are keen to upgrade and re-skill themselves in the area of new media marketing.  This scheme is designed to expose trainees to the real business environment and equip them with the essential marketing skills and knowledge needed in emerging new media environments.

Job Description commonly cited:

• Formulate and execute plans and strategies to increase company’s market exposure to drive and increase sales
• Involved in media relations and issues management for effective promotion and positive perception of company’s infrastructure development role
• To achieve positive publicity and branding for the organization through the use of traditional and new marketing tools
• Implement new marketing tools in social networking sites.


Classroom training:
• Develop media product knowledge, new media
• Social media marketing and promotion
• Profile the market to implement and monitor marketing activities
• Conduct market research
• Make presentations
