Opening of SMA new training centre at Clarke Quay
18 Nov 2009
Singapore Media Academy (SMA), Singapore’s first and largest media training centre officially opened its doors at Clarke Quay, Riverside Point on 18 November 2009.
Since its inception in November 2005, SMA has been working hard to fulfill the mission of providing top quality training to build a pipeline of creative talents for the industry. Following the appointment of SMA as the Media Continuing Education and Training (CET) Centre by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) in November 2008, SMA has been committed to design and build a new training centre with state-of-arts facilities that provides easy access to industry practitioners and aspiring talents who wish to upgrade themselves through the nationally recognised Media Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) training programmes.
The opening of SMA’s new training centre marks a magnificent milestone for the media industry.

To celebrate this occasion, a specially arranged event in the format of SMA Newsflash was held on 18 November 2009, and the event was graced by the Minister of State for Manpower, Mr. Lee Yi Shyan.
